This policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how MyFriendsHotel will collect, use, disclose, safeguard and manage the personal information you disclose through our Website.

1. PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

Personally identifiable information is supplied by you when using our website. Instances may include the following:

  • Registering as a member
  • Completing your Members Profile
  • Completing your Accommodation Details
  • Using MYFRIENDSHOTEL Groups and Events message boards, forums and other related services (the “Services”)
  • Using interactive features such as sending messages or using the notice board
  • Corresponding with us via e-mail, asking a question, providing feedback or suggestions
  • Subscribing to our newsletter
  • Referring a friend to our Website
  • Entering into any form of competition or survey

2. ONLINE REGISTRATION

The public aspect of the website does not require you to provide any personally identifiable information. However, in order to use the service you are required to become a registered user. (see the Terms of Use for more information).

For registration purposes we will collect information to identify you, to manage your MYFRIENDSHOTEL account, to provide you with your personal account services, to communicate with you about Hotel Bookings, Notice Board feedback, to allow other users to contact you through the website, to advise you of website/service updates and to contact you to discuss disputes either from us or other users.

We may also email you periodically to confirm your account details and the status of your account. If you register as a Host we may wish to confirm proof of residence in the form of a bank statement or a utility bill with your home address. We are then able to verify your details to potential Guests.

3. MEMBERS PROFILE

Your Profile has scope to submit optional personal data such as: home phone number, mobile phone number, date of birth, nationality, occupation,, languages spoken, reason for joining MFH, a biography, Interests, and a profile photograph. This information is optional but will enable us to provide you with a more personalised and tailored experience in addition, it demonstrate to other users that you are an open and honest member who can be trusted as a Host and/or a Guest. 4. ENTERING REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION

Your Profile has scope to submit optional personal data such as: home phone number, mobile phone number, date of birth, nationality, occupation,, languages spoken, reason for joining MFH, a biography, Interests, and a profile photograph. This information is optional but will enable us to provide you with a more personalised and tailored experience in addition, it demonstrate to other users that you are an open and honest member who can be trusted as a Host and/or a Guest. 5. MEMBERSHIP DATA

Public Forums: Only registered users can post comments on message boards and public forums. Comments, suggestions and other feedback may be collected by us from any public forum in order to promote, monitor and/or improve our products and services. You should always remember that all information submitted to a public forum can be viewed by any MyFriendsHotel members. We recommend that you do not personal information about you or anyone else on a public forum.
At times we may email you a newsletter, service updates or other relevant information. With each e-mail will be an option to ‘unsubscribe’ or you may contact us: Contact Us Subject: Unsubscribe.

6. INFORMATION ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE

You are able to detail other peoples email address – for example in the Invite-A-Friend Program (IAFP). We will not use this information for any other purpose unless prior consent is given by the third party. Messages originating from IAFP will be stored so that we may credit your members account with a positive referral and any subsequent bonus relevant to such a promotion. The tracking of your e-mail also allows us to correct errors and counteract fraud so that we can work in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

7. CUSTOMER SERVICE

If you contact us electronically with comments, feedback or suggestions we will retain details of your name, email address and the content of your email. This may help us in assisting you in the future. We may also use your comments to monitor and improve our service to our users.

8. PAYMENTS

All payments to Hosts and MYFRIENDSHOTEL are made through a third party online payment service. MYFRIENDSHOTEL does not collect credit card details but we do keep a record of your payment history. This also adds a degree of security in that all users of our services have a traceable record – details of which we can offer to law enforcement agencies as appropriate / necessary. 9. WEBSITE INFORMATION

MYFRIENDSHOTEL will collect certain information from visitors to the site. We collect the IP (internet protocol) addresses of all visitors, clickstream information and other related details such as which sites you visit prior and post visiting our site, your internet provider, the time you spend on our website and any information relevant to you finding our site. This information allows us to monitor user patters relevant to our site and determine how the site is being used, which areas are most popular and analyse trends and usage patterns.

10. COOKIES

Your user data relevant to your visit to MYFRIENDSHOTEL is stored on a ‘cookie’. This data is provided by the internet browser you use, and may be turned off in you browser preferences. However, it is possible that some parts of the site won’t function properly if ‘cookies’ have been deactivated.
This data helps us to understand how our members use the site – which areas work and which areas could do with improvement. This helps us to develop and improve the site. We predominantly use ‘session cookies’ which are deleted from your hard drive upon closing your browser. For faster log-ins and for MYFRIENDSHOTEL to remember you as a user when you return to the site it is possible to allow us to store a permanent cookie on your computer.

11. SECONDARY MARKETING

There may be occasions when we ask for your permission to send you updates about our products and services and also those of any affiliated businesses. 12. THIRD PARTY PAYMENT SERVICES

Third Party Payment Services do not have any association with MYFRIENDSHOTEL other than that we use their service to facilitate the transfer of fund, commissions and payments between our members and MYFRIENDSHOTEL.

13. HOW DO WE DISCLOSE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

Details of information we use are set out in this Privacy Policy and otherwise we do not sell, rent or disclose any personally identifiable information to third parties without your prior consent.

As part of the Services we provide, we will disclose certain personally identifiable information to other MYFRIENDSHOTEL members, as described below:

In addition to the information publicly available on the MYFRIENDHOTEL website we will disclose your Address and your Phone Number to guests only when you have confirmed a booking with that Guest:

You personal information is the property of MYFRIENDSHOTEL and may be transferred in the sale, merger or business transfer of assets. We may also transfer your personally identifiable information to a third party as part of that transaction.

Aggregate information (for example, the total number of trips users take in a specific timeframe or the average age of our members) may be calculated and disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes. This aggregate information that is not personally identifiable.

20. THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

MYFRIENDSHOTEL may include links to third party Websites or advertisements for products and services that may interest you. Our inclusion of links does not imply that we endorse any of the companies represented. These third parties have separate privacy policies so you should read them carefully as our Privacy Policy will no longer apply to these third party websites and therefore we have no responsibility or liability for their behaviour or actions.

21. CHILDREN

All MYFRIENDSHOTEL members must be over the age of 18 and if we discover that they are not we will delete their profile, end their membership and delete their personal information.

22. ONLINE REGISTRATION

To protect our users we maintain administrative, technical and physical precautions to protect against unauthorised access, use or manipulation of your personally identifiable information. We only allow employees and authorised service providers to access personally identifiable information. Your personally identifiable information will only be kept and used by us as long as it remains necessary, relevant or required by law.

All MYFRIENDHOTEL members should be aware that no data transmitted over the internet can be guaranteed to be secure. As such, MYFRIENDSHOTEL can not assure that your personally identifiable information will be protected against loss, misuse or alterations by you or by third parties.

To increase security all of your personally identifiable information is protected by a password selected by you. Password should be kept private and we will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited communication.

23. PRIVACY POLICY UPDATES

This Privacy Policy may be amended or updated to show changes in our policy towards personally identifiable information. Revisions will be posted on this website. Your personally identifiable information will be treated in accordance with the most recent Privacy Policy current at the time of posting your information.

24. MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATIONS OR AMENDMENTS
